If you check the following thread, you will see that my price is lower than most for non guild members' prices:-

http://www.prydwen.net/showthread.php?t=5704

If you read the thread picking out the prices that Spellcrafters charge per overcharged item, this is what you'll find (assuming no-one edits their posts in attempt to do a "cover up"):

Awarkle, 350g
Kexex, 300-500g (250g for guild members)
Grymligast, 300-500g
Scabs, 300-500g
Cromcruaich, 250-500g
Darim, 400-500g
Dotster 400g+
Volty^Shifty, 750g

(Note: I don't mention names to "shame" anyone, for want a better word, but merely so that you can check that I have quoted correctly)

If you average out the above prices (350+400+400+400+375+450+400+750/eight), you get 440g 62s per o/c item... 120g more than what I would charge.

I'm not saying you can't get it done more cheaply, but going by the average for a 4-gem o/c item I am less expensive.

Also, I charge PER GEM, which is fairer in my opinion, because some customers may only require 2 or 3 gems imbuing into an item, so why should they pay the same price as someone requiring 4 gems?

And from the feedback from my customers they say I am good value and have even given generous monetary tips.

Hmm yeah that are just the SC-ers that posted in the trade section. I use others, also there is no need to defend your pricing Gandelf..your craft you charge whatever you want imo :)

Just made a observation with that previous post

It's ok Q, I wasn't trying to make a point to ping-pong the ball back to you. I originally set my charge at materials +20%, but was informed by some crafters that that was far too low. So, that's when I decided to start a thread and ask for advice. The feedback I got is what I went by to determine what I should charge. I didn't want to charge too much or too little, but a fair price. 80g per overcharged gem on high-level armour and weapons is the figure I arrived at from my research. If I ever thought that my prices were too expensive then I would most certainly revise them.

I'm in need of a few hugs lately. I've had a bad week.
It was great fun last night joining the bg to recapture our keeps and towers from the thicko Mids and sheepish Albs. :P

To be entirely fair, I normally give a 1-2 plat tip, depending on how much money I got.

I find it silly to justify for myselves I spend 20 plat on a book of scrolls/arti only to give the SC'er, who spend an hour so to do my set, 1 plat.

But that's just me :<
