Korax wrote:Well, you have to know how the story goes to understand it. Do your homework and play the game. I found the movie perfect in terms of how much they explained and amount of action. I know the story pretty well, so if there is something you are wondering about, I'd be happy to explain.
I understood what's going on in the movie, after a while. And that wasn't the point.

The movie lacks something in term of timing, in term of story building. People are excited because of action, not because of story and how it does envolve characters from game a bit further.

From fan side of view, it's 9/10, because MAN - it's FF VII! And there is .... (insert name of that big monster, to not spoil it for who doesn't see it)!

But if you are not fan, then you have to notice problem with story telling. The movie between actions (and actualy even first action in game too) is a bit.. confusing to be nice. Again, they didn't know how to tell story and/or make dialogs better, to keep me interested all the time. So from film making point of view - 6/10, maybe, maybe 7/10.

if you havnt played the game and are into FF, then I realy dont think this movie has alot to offer besides some awsome GFX, tho I am into FF so I loved it, but do have a hard time seeing someone that aint enjoying that much.

I AM big FF7 fan. My first FF game and you know what' said about first love :) ANd in the movies there were scenes that bring tears into my eyes. (whoopsie, spoiler, edited)

But still that movie could use a good storyteller.

Oh and by the way - Music. New rock wersion of One Winged Angel isn't bad, but original orchestral version is so much better. I might even try to replace that music in movie :) Also there were other musics that could be better.

Call me picky if you want. But i guess i had high expectations how this movie would looks like :)

Edit: Speaking of music - anyone has that Winner mellody that sounds from cell phone in format for Sony Erricson T610? It's really cool ringing tone :)

A story telling game with 50+ hours gameplay made in to a movie gotta focus on something that is more rewarding on the limited time.

My wishlist for the FF7 Compilation:
AC: What I got.
BC: Hoping to get to play it :\ and hoping to get to know alot more about shinra and the turks.
CC: Cloud and Zack, GIIIIVF more about these two!
DC: Make Vincent kick ass. ^^

edit: Yeh, movie is defo not for non ff7 fans.
