we are way to annoying when we do scrape thru - if we didnt we would act like a toddler having a tantrum and just not let ANY laws pass

would be extreamly amusing year to say the least

UK has had 0 points before, not too long ago iirc even.

TBH, it was a bit stupid this time, it might as well have just been called USSRovision.

Xest is right, Uk had 0 points last yer or if it was 2 years ago, but you are one of the "big 5" so you can do what you want, you allways get in the game anyway.....And xest has right in the second statment aswell, lets talk about EASTeuroovision....

There are a lot of political factors influencing the ESC at the moment...

The biggest is probably block voting
Ex-USSR countries vote for their neighbours, as do ex-yugo countries, as do scandinavian countries, & there are a LOT of ex-USSR & ex-Yugo countries!

The second is that countries where a large proportion of the population live abroad get more votes, due to the exiles voting for their mother-country & not being able to vote for oneself.
Germany always gives Turkey 12 points.
Switzerland gave Serbia 12 points.
yadda yadda yadda

The end result is that it has less & less to do with the actual music & more to do with political/social afinity. The best USSR/Yugo song wins, and as we saw yesterday, the west European countries are only able to fill all the LAST places.

There is a large debate in Switzerland atm about wether there is any point at all in taking part in future.

it never has been worth it but its always good to watch to hear terry wogan mock them
