Don't think in our world everyone will be treated equal. that's whyi find it funny people looking forl ife on other planets when we can't even respect our own.

So in the end there can only be one?
No diversity? (since we apparently can't tolerate it)
All of us the same?
Same skin-colour, same habits, same religion, same opinions?
yuck
I guess pleading for more tolerance is out of the question?

That does sound way too much like the national socialist party.

i recently wrote an essay about Peter Singer, a philosopher, who wrote out his case for animal rights, based on racism and sexism,
basically his arguement was that discrmination based on appearences was wrong, in essence whats the difference between discriminating against black people on the colour of their skin, compared to discrminating against an animal just because she/he has 4 legs?
(thats a very shortened down version
if any wants to read the essay i can email it to them or just look up Peter Singer on google )
so while i was going through his work, things started to make more sense in some respects, but what i really liked was his case for animal rights was pretty strong, so flip it over and the arguements for equality amongst humans becomes even stronger,
anyway if anyone gets the time give it a read, very interesting

You see all the people in the world as one organism that should be able to compute.
We are induviduals, yet we belong to something and that something isn't Humanity. Humanity is too large for a single mind to compute and because of that we try to divide Humanity into smaller pieces like ~race, colors, cult, etc.
Of course you can see the troubles with this and try to find a solution but your mind(mine too) is too small to even compute the question.
A global mind with sub induvidual minds and making the whole earth a super organism would solve everthing.
(Again, don't take my posts too seriously)

yeah, they kind of relate.Ovi wrote:Well put, but it isn't quite that simple.
Of course we all defend our flock, but why do flocks become aggressive with each other? Is it because the flock is frightened, greedy or power hungry? I actually think it's as you said in the other thread, because it's survival of the fittest flock!
Problems often comes when a flock expands their territory (clashing into another flocks territory).
Another problem is that with todays technology we don't have thoose lines drawn and that makes us unsure on wich ground to stand and that can lead to lot's of troubles(depression, agression, insanity, etc).
(I may have taken badly examples but I hope you get the big picture)

I have long thought that many of the problems men currently have with aggression & depression stam from the impossibility within our modern societies to be a man. Population is waaay to dense for us to be able to fulfill our primary job as hunter/killer & defender of the cave & the territory surrounding it. Since we can't fulfill our natural role, many of us either direct our aggression outwards & become violent, or inwards & become depressive.

A really good point! I can't even debate it. It's just a very good point
